Audio Ollie – Oliver Codd: 12 String Guitar

What do you get when you combine two acoustic guitars? It’s a 12-string guitar , but not one you might be familiar with. This experimental 12-string guitar is Oliver Codd’s unique instrument , designed to work in virtual space thanks to its beautiful, simple, and limited design. 

All the strings are tuned to the same note, resulting in a powerful, rich, ensemble sound that, while pleasing to the ear, is very difficult to reproduce in a live performance. Sampling was used to capture all the beautiful nuances and overcome performance limitations, opening up a whole new world of creative possibilities.
