About the program

Vacuum Classic is a monophonic vintage synthesizer with tube synthesis and tube modeling that perfectly captures the crisp, warm sound of the analog era. Featuring analog oscillators, a variety of filters and envelopes, and built-in audio effects, Vacuum lets you dive into subtractive synthesis and recreate the sought-after analog sounds of the 70s and 80s. Tweak the switches, knobs, and dials to program anything: bass, leads, pads, or unique sound effects.

Vacuum features two tube oscillators. A nice feature of the four available waveforms is that Vacuum lets you not only select one, but also “morph” between them. The oscillator output is routed through a mixer, where you can apply drive/distortion and ring modulation, and then through high- and low-pass filters.

The kit includes a wide range of presets developed by renowned sound designers Richard Devine and Mark Ovenden. This library, complete with leads, pads, bass, arpeggios, percussion, and effects, will instantly inspire anyone to create their own sound.

The filters provide a smooth sound, but each one has a saturation control if you prefer a more aggressive sound. A very nice touch is the “age” controls, which let you adjust the degree of pitch drift for the oscillators or the amount of dust that can make the synth sound old-fashioned and noisy.

The Age function lets you adjust drift and dust, adjusting the age of everything from oscillator drift to crackle and slightly off-key keyboard activation/pitch to achieve the truly authentic hardware sound synth lovers crave. This is one of the most realistic emulations you’ll ever hear!

Vacuum also features several modulation options, including two envelopes that can be configured to trigger repeatedly on the settings page. It also has a built-in arpeggiator. For a synth plugin, Vacuum surprisingly doesn’t sound like a synth plugin, but rather like a real, dirty, analog instrument.

Vacuum Pro is a powerful combination of two distinct synthesizer parts that can be combined, split, and layered to create spacious, wide, and rich analog sounds. Each Vacuum Pro part consists of two full-bandwidth tube oscillators that can be synced, detuned, and adjusted to different octaves. Additionally, Quad Detune controls for each oscillator allow you to quickly achieve a rich sound. For even more spaciousness, the built-in Doubling effect instantly expands and enriches your patch.
