Chris Hein – Orchestral Brass Compact (KONTAKT)

Orchestral Brass Compact is a light version of the unique Chris Hein library – Orchestra Brass Complete. It offers the same number of instruments: three trumpets, three trombones and three French horns, recorded as nine separate instruments and three ensembles.
With exceptional and versatile sound quality, the Orchestral Brass Compact is the perfect addition to any orchestral library, especially for brass production; whether it be in classics, epic film scores or orchestral stage.
For the compact edition, we have compiled the most important and common elements and functions of the full edition. At the same time, this copper library undoubtedly meets the highest expectations in terms of sound quality, expression and usability. The library tools use carefully prepared multisamples with detailed phase alignment to correctly align the phases and crossfades of dynamic layers. Up to eight dynamic layers ensure realistic sound.
Among the undeniable advantages of the library are true legato, variable attack on the note, innovative aids such as hotkeys, note headers and remote control of all functions via MIDI via TouchOSC.
Chris Hein – Orchestral Brass Compact relies on the powerful Kontakt sample engine with a custom user interface and an extensive set of scripts to meet the specific requirements of these instruments.
Both high-quality equipment such as select Neumann microphones and outstanding performances by musicians create a sound aesthetic. Unlike the award-winning Chris Hein – Horns, this library uses the famous WDR Symphonic Orchestra.

Description

Thanks to the dual convolution of the sample engine reverb and the intentionally dry sound of Chris Hein Brass Compact, you can easily adapt the instruments to different situations. Kontakt allows you to freely place instruments in a stereo panorama. In addition, separate folding mechanisms for both the body (body) sound and the ambience (room) allow the creation of any spatial environment, from intimacy to large orchestral halls. This distinguishes the CH Brass Compact from many competitors with its fixed spatial characteristics. This makes the library very versatile and, moreover, it can be combined with almost any other available library.
Over a period of six months, all samples were completely phase-matched. Accordingly, the instruments offer perfect, seamless dynamic layer transitions without degrading sound quality.
The combination of long and short notes is a serious problem in sample libraries and often does not give reliable sounding results. With real musical instruments, note length often affects the attack behavior as well as the end of the note. CH Brass Compact addresses these aspects in his Note Head Designer. For each sustain, you can call up short, corrected sample variations, called shorts, through the controllers.
These shorts not only offer the appropriate correct attack behavior, but also the end of the note that perfectly matches the length of the note. These user-definable variations of short note variations are available on a maximum of eight dynamic layers each and can be combined with corresponding stable phases, resulting in amazing, realistic results that cannot be achieved with random RR selection. Of course, these shorts are also available in custom designs.
Chris Hein Brass Compact instruments offer true legato. Appropriate detailed recording and editing results in unexpectedly realistic sounds with perfect transitions between notes. At the same time, you can expand these realistic articulations with additional artificial legato inserts.
