Effects

Infiltrator 2 includes a huge selection of effects processors with 54 different modules to choose from, many of which have multiple subtypes.

The extensive filter set includes crisp digital and smooth analog models, as well as more exotic types like formant and comb filtering. There’s a harsh distortion module with 12 different models. Pitch shifting, frequency modulation, delay, reverb, spectral mapping, and much more are available.

Individually, each of these modules could compete with a dedicated plugin, but Infiltrator’s true strength lies in its ability to combine and modulate different effects.

Sequencer

Use any combination of 10 effects in the 32-step sequencer. Effect modules can be activated individually or together, and at different speeds. Using each of the effects available in the sequencer, you can create anything from a simple combination to an entire series of effects.

Macros

Four macro controls (now eight, as of version 2.2!) can be assigned to any control in Infiltrator, allowing you to control multiple effects or properties, adjusting their intensity or character over time. Over 1,500 Infiltrator presets also use macros for easy control and perfect sound customization.

Once you’ve set up your macros (or selected a preset), you can control them using automation in your DAW to perfectly fit the Infiltrator into the rest of the track.

Swing

Unplug without using a calculator. Infiltrator features the best swing feature you’ve ever seen in an LFO. Draw your pattern, set the grid size, and adjust the swing amplitude. The grid and your dots will automatically move to match the new swing setting.

Randomize

Choose from eight preset curve shapes or use other ready-made templates. Click the “Random” button and select “Random Curve,” “Stepped Curve,” or “Euclidean Rhythm.” Random mode uses the grid, pitch snap, and swing settings.

Pitch Shift

Some Infiltrators effects, such as the Pitch Shifter, filters with resonance, and others, are customizable. Program curves in Pitch Snapping mode, and the points you draw will gravitate toward actual musical note values, resulting in a more natural sound. Press the button next to the main control, and it will move in semitone increments. The graph can be customized to correspond to one of the musical scales.

Pitch Snapping mode is also compatible with the Curve Randomization feature, which helps you instantly find more musically harmonious shapes.

Audio and MIDI

Infiltrator Curves can be used as low-frequency oscillators in your DAW’s timeline or as one-shot envelopes that trigger at your discretion. Curve triggering based on the audio input level is convenient for technical tasks, such as applying the same filter to every drum hit. MIDI-based curve triggering allows for precise synchronization of effects throughout a track.

Infiltrator’s effects can be activated and deactivated using MIDI notes, making it an ideal tool for live performances and an alternative to a sequencer. Envelopes can be triggered via MIDI, allowing the effects curve to be reset with each new note played.

New in Infiltrator 2: Use the MIDI CC effects module to output Infiltrator envelopes as MIDI CC data, which (with the appropriate software) can be used to control external effects and synths!

Compressors

The Infiltrator has a dedicated main compressor section and a compressor effect, each of which is available in four different models.

The Squash compressor delivers a sharp attack that suppresses and controls your sound. You can add more volume to your sound with the Maximizer, which will keep your sound from getting out of control.

Need more? Use a multiband compressor—we’ve done all the complex algorithmic work so you don’t have to. And if you’re into dirty sounds, try turning up the Overkill to the max.
