The KORG Collection is a collection of software synthesizers that meticulously recreate the authentic sound and behavior of some of Korg’s legendary synthesizers for today and tomorrow.
The software synth suite covers a wide range of synthesis, from early analog masterpieces like the MS-20 and Polysix to digital hits like the M1 and TRITON workstations.
For 2022, it includes three unique instruments beloved by creators worldwide: the microKORG, a best-selling synthesizer since 2002, focused on the pleasure of playful performance and gorgeous analog-modeled sound; the ELECTRIBE-R, the original ELECTRIBE that lets anyone create beats instantly; and the KAOSS PAD, which reflects the revolutionary KAOSS PAD effects processor, which freely controls effects via an intuitive touchpad and is now available in a powerful software format. KORG Collection 6 covers a wide range of sounds and effects symbolizing every era.
VOX Super Continental
Originally conceived in the early 1960s as a more portable and affordable alternative to tonewheel organs, the VOX Continental, with its distinctive sound and striking red-and-black design, soon became a staple of British Invasion bands. The Continental’s vibrant tone and bold character paired perfectly with jangly guitars and cut through the mix seamlessly both on stage and in the studio.
The KORG Collection VOX Super Continental plug-in began as a recreation of the beloved and meticulously maintained Super Continental, personally owned by the lead software engineer, including details such as the behavior of hundreds of individual key contacts. We then expanded the model to include other features, such as an extremely rare percussion section, to accurately capture the Super Continental’s sound. Now, we proudly present the most accurate VOX Continental software instrument available!
TRINITY
TRINITY, the revolutionary workstation that changed everything, is back. First released in 1995, TRINITY redefined what a synthesizer could be. Its elegant silver case, intuitive touchscreen interface, and flawless 16-bit/48 kHz PCM engine made it a technological milestone. With its expanded expansion capabilities and unrivaled sound quality, TRINITY became the foundation for future KORG flagships—TRITON, OASYS, and KRONOS—and the defining synthesizer of the 90s.
Now, for its 30th anniversary, this legendary sound is reborn in software as the KORG TRINITY collection. Every detail has been meticulously crafted—from the ACCESS sound engine to the original DACs—to capture the undeniable depth, clarity, and presence of the original TRINITY hardware.
SGX-2
The KORG SGX-2 Collection brings the renowned SGX-2 Premium Piano Engine, the powerhouse of KORG’s flagship instruments KRONOS, NAUTILUS, and Grandstage X, to your Mac or PC. The SGX-2 features a stunning collection of meticulously sampled concert grand pianos, delivering an unparalleled piano playing experience.
In addition to renowned German and Japanese grand pianos, this collection includes an Italian grand piano, a Japanese baby grand piano, and a Japanese upright piano—each recreated with stunning, realistic detail. All 88 keys are recorded in stereo without loops, allowing for the natural decay of each note to be accurately captured. Independent damper and sympathetic string resonances reproduce the instrument’s full harmonic richness, while subtle pedal, key, and release sounds add the final layer of authenticity for an incredibly realistic playing experience.
With up to 12 layers of velocity sensitivity, the SGX-2 captures the full range of your playing expression—from delicate pianissimo to thunderous fortissimo—making every performance vibrant, dynamic, and deeply musical.
PS-3300
Introduced in 1977, the original PS-3300 was a unique and magnificent instrument. A semi-modular predecessor to the MS-20, it boasted 144 independent synthesizer tones—three for each of its 48 keys. Renowned for its powerful, rich, and distinctive sound, it captivated pioneering musicians such as Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Keith Emerson, and Aphex Twin. With fewer than 50 original synthesizers produced, it is arguably the rarest and most sought-after synthesizer ever made.
In 2024, KORG announced a new limited-edition reissue of the PS-3300: expertly handcrafted, impressive in sound, and in every way comparable to the original. Naturally, it also features modern enhancements, such as expanded MIDI control and program storage. Now, KORG is pleased to introduce the first true software reimagining of this legendary synthesizer: the KORG Collection PS-3300.
EP-1
The EP-1 electric piano sound engine first appeared in 2011 in the flagship KORG KRONOS workstation synthesizer. It utilizes the latest MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology, which delivers smooth and dynamic timbre changes that precisely match the strength of keystrokes, something previous sample playback methods could not achieve. In 2017, it was introduced in the top-of-the-line Korg Grandstage stage piano, and in 2021, a new electric piano model was added to the NAUTILUS workstation. This version of the plugin now features the latest EP-1 sound engine and a new sound, making it the definitive sound engine for electric pianos.
The EP-1’s incredibly realistic sound and dynamic expression will thrill the musician and evoke deep emotional responses. Experience the EP-1’s cutting-edge sound engine and expand your creative horizons.
ARP 2600
The iconic ARP 2600. It’s the only synthesizer you’ll see in any major studio. They fetch astronomical prices on the used market.
When KORG released a limited edition ARP 2600 FS in 2020, they immediately sold out worldwide. Now, KORG is pleased to present the first truly accurate software recreation of this essential synthesizer.
KORG’s proprietary CMT technology accurately reproduces the signature waveforms and filters, user-defined LFO and envelope shapes, a wealth of subtle nonlinearities, and even patch panel behavior—unlike any other 2600 software instrument. Thanks to this obsessive attention to detail, you can open the original ARP 2600 patch book (available as a free PDF on the KORG website), connect each of the 100 patches on-screen, and they’ll sound just like the real ARP 2600.
ARP ODYSSEY
Since its inception in 1972, the ARP Odyssey has become a renowned analog synthesizer, featured on numerous recordings. However, for several years, it was quite difficult to find. In 2015, KORG invited ARP Instruments co-founder David Friend as an advisor and resumed hardware production.
The KORG ARP ODYSSEY is a software version of the 2015 ARP ODYSSEY reproduction. We used KORG’s proprietary CMT (Component Modeling Technology) to accurately emulate the analog feel and sound of the original. We also added numerous enhancements that are only possible with software, such as high polyphony and built-in effects. This is the most vintage and modern ARP ODYSSEY, the kind that only KORG, with its analog expertise and digital technology, can create. Definitely get it.
M1
Released in 1988, the M1 is a landmark synthesizer that defined the music scene of the late ’80s and ’90s. Its high-quality PCM-based digital multi-effects synthesis system boasted a unique, era-defining sound. Furthermore, as the original all-in-one music workstation, it came with an 8-track sequencer, radically changing the way musicians composed and produced music worldwide.
KORG Collection M1 V2 is an update to the M1 software released in 2005, enhanced for modern production environments. We’ve added the highly sought-after high-resolution, scalable interface. The preset sounds include all 3,300 programs, including those from ROM expansion cards, delivering the legendary M1 sounds via the latest plug-in software.
MDE-X
The MDE-X comes with 21 effect types such as compressor, limiter, overdrive, EQ, talking modulator, flanger, phaser, chorus, delay, and reverb.
MDE-X uses the high-quality TRITON instant effect algorithm. Use effects that have been used in many famous sounds and defined the sound of plug-ins. With 128 types of effect programs, it can be used in a wide range of applications, such as sound design, live performance, and mixing. MDE-X V2 has been refined, adding Distortion and Feedback Reverb, two new high-quality effect types that allow switching between them.
miniKORG
In the early 1970s, many compact monophonic synthesizers appeared on the market. However, most of them were used primarily by renowned musicians who could afford rare instruments, or as research devices in the academic world. KORG wanted to give the average musician the opportunity to experience this new type of musical instrument.
After much trial and error, in 1973 the company announced the release of its first mass-produced synthesizer: the miniKORG 700. Its simple appearance, which belied its ability to produce a variety of sounds beyond imagination, captivated many musicians, who loved its unique and dense tonal quality.
- The MiniKORG 700S, an improved version with an additional VCO, was announced the following year and has now been recreated as a software instrument.
- The miniKORG 700S for Mac and Windows delivers a faithful reproduction of the original analog hardware with powerful new features only available in software.
- Now you can enjoy the unique sounds and capabilities of this historic KORG synthesizer on your computer.
Mono/Poly
The Mono/Poly analog synthesizer, released simultaneously with the Polysix in 1981, combined Korg’s previous analog synthesizers into a single, groundbreaking synthesizer. Although it was a monophonic synthesizer with a thick, four-voice sound, it had a groundbreaking specification that allowed it to also be used as a four-voice polyphonic synthesizer, a valuable feature since polyphonic synthesizers were expensive at the time. It was renowned for its versatility in sound creation, using four VCOs (voltage-controlled oscillators) in combination with the Polysix, including oscillator sync and cross-modulation.
While the Mono/Poly V2 in this KORG collection is based on the 2007 Mono/Poly software emulation, it has been refined for modern production environments. In addition to the long-awaited scalable, high-resolution interface, we’ve added two new multi-effects. All analog sounds and behavior are realistically reproduced using CMT, KORG’s proprietary electronic modeling technology, and this cutting-edge software delivers the power and vintage vibes you’re looking for in a plug-in.
MS-20
Released in 1978, the MS-20 analog synthesizer is undoubtedly one of the most famous and respected synthesizers of all time. This huge bestseller from KORG, with its fat and sticky sound, powerful self-oscillating filter, and freely adjustable patch section, remains popular among professionals and amateurs alike.
While the MS-20 V2 in this KORG collection is based on the software-emulated MS-20 from 2004, it has been enhanced for modern production environments. In addition to the frequently requested high-resolution and scalable interface, we’ve added two new multi-effects. All analog sounds and behavior are realistically reproduced using CMT, KORG’s proprietary circuit modeling technology, and this cutting-edge software delivers the powerful sound that only the MS-20 can deliver.
Polysix
The Polysix analog synthesizer, introduced in 1981, is one of KORG’s most famous synthesizers. Popular synthesizers of the time featured five-voice polyphony. The Polysix, with its six polyphonic voices (one extra voice), was named directly in honor of the engineers’ determination and pride. Sound memory and built-in effects like chorus, phaser, and ensemble are common features today, but at the time they were considered advanced features. By combining them to deliver a unique, bold sound, the Polysix quickly became a worldwide bestseller.
Prophecy
In the 1990s, PCM synthesizers were at their peak, but artists in the club scene were already looking for a more flexible analog sound, hinting at the coming analog revival of the 2000s.
It was in this context that the Prophecy was announced in 1995, offering greater flexibility and tonal possibilities than ever before. The Prophecy Solo Synthesizer, based on cutting-edge digital signal processing technology and a DSP chip previously used exclusively for effects processing, was now available as a software plug-in offering ease of use, polyphony, and the modern features essential for modern music production.
TRITON/TRITON Extreme
The KORG TRITON series of workstation synthesizers was first released in 1999 and has received acclaim and prestigious awards. Top musicians around the world have embraced the expressive sound of PCM and have used their TRITONs in countless songs.
This year, to mark its 20th anniversary, the KORG TRITON will finally be available in software form as the KORG TRITON / TRITON Extreme collection. The plug-in faithfully reproduces the HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis system down to the smallest detail and includes every one of the vast number of preset programs. Recreate the truly masterful sound that characterizes countless hits.
WAVESTION
Released in 1990, the WAVESTATION is a synthesizer with an advanced vector synthesis system capable of creating new sounds by combining and linking multiple waveforms. Featuring unique features such as a joystick for mixing and morphing four oscillators and a wave sequence function that can arrange waves into sequences to form rhythmic or melodic sequences, it remains a legendary and indispensable instrument to this day.
The KORG WAVESTATION V2 collection is an update to the 2004 WAVESTATION software, enhanced for modern production environments. We’ve added the highly sought-after high-resolution, scalable interface. The preset sounds include all 1,500 programs, including expansion ROM cards that deliver the renowned WAVESTATION sounds via the latest software plug-in.
ELECTRIBE-R
The ELECTRIBE series offers intuitive control with knobs, switches, and step sequencers, allowing anyone to start making beats right away. The ELECTRIBE-R, one of the most popular and beloved track makers worldwide, is reborn for your Mac/Windows.
The first-generation ELECTRIBE series was founded on the concept of a fun way to choose piquant and unique standalone instruments that could be used as complements to electronic music, rather than large devices attempting to cover all the bases in a single machine, depending on your preference. The software (preloaded tone generation) was handcrafted by our sound designers with the idea of ”a rhythm machine that allows you to develop sounds and easily create modern music.”
KAOSS PAD
Tap, trace, and rub the touchpad to play. The KAOSS PAD series, with its simple and intuitive concept, has been used not only in the international DJ world but across all types of music scenes, from the first-generation KP1, introduced in 1999, to the third-generation KP3+ and beyond. It has evolved into many other music products equipped with its intuitive interface, creating the “KAOSS family.”
microKORG
Since its release in 2002, the microKORG has been loved by more musicians worldwide than any other hardware synthesizer in history. Following the first-generation microKORG, a number of variations have been released, including the microKORG XL, released in 2009, and the microKORG S with 2+1 speakers, as well as numerous color options.
Legacy Cell
Legacy Cell is a performance-based plug-in that lets you freely combine two MS-20 and/or Polysix units with the dual effects processor for even more dynamic and unique sound creations! It offers 127 presets with plenty of room for your own combinations. The MDE-X effects processor offers everything you could need, from reverb and delay to distortion, and even the MS-20’s filter section is available as an effect.
A virtual Korg microKontrol is also built into Legacy Cell for assigning and controlling any editable parameters in real time, and it works instantly with the real microKontrol too! The whole point of this package is: great plugins, great sound, great results!
