Before you start: Introduction and preparation

Before the course starts, you will need to take a few steps to ensure you are ready for day one. Louis Bell will explain how to set everything up and what you need to prepare and know in advance to get the most out of the training.

Days 1–15: The Complete Songwriting and Music Production Process

In this section, Louis takes you through the entire songwriting and production process, creating an original track in real time, from idea to final version. He shows you in detail how he writes melodies and lyrics, produces synths, drums, bass and other instruments, uses effects and automation to shape the sound, and mixes and finalizes the track. You’ll follow Louis step by step and complete the first part of the course with your own original song.

Days 16-30: Creating a Song for an Artist

In the second part of the course, Louis shows you how to co-write a song with an artist, working with them in the studio on lyrics, melody and arrangement. Once the song is recorded, Louis shows you how he produces the track, including the full vocal production process. You will write and produce a second song in collaboration with the artist, a friend or a musician in your circle.
