The virtual instrument platform reimagined Imagine any sound – Kontakt lets you find it, create it, and transform it. The latest version of our revolutionary sampling platform combines an entirely new set of intelligent tools with countless sound design options, redefining the way you generate ideas and create music.
Kontakt 8
The full version of Kontakt offers all the powerful tools for music production and access to many unique virtual instruments. There is a library of Kontakt Factory and thousands of options from independent instrument developers.
Huge selection of sound instruments
Kontakt has the world’s largest selection of virtual instruments. Thousands of libraries provide quality sound from Native Instruments, our official partners and many independent developers. Plus, everything is fully customizable, so you can create your own sound.
What’s new in Kontakt 8?
Our most feature-rich release to date introduces a new way to generate, modulate, and play sound. It also includes performance updates that let you work faster than ever.
Overcome your creative block
Instruments add a whole new level of creative possibilities for realizing ideas. And they work with any Kontakt instrument, old or new. For our first release, we’re launching MIDI content and chord and phrase randomization features to spark new ideas and get you up to speed quickly.
- Tools: MIDI effects that work with all Kontakt instruments. The Chords section includes a large collection of chord progressions, allowing you to play them by pressing a single key. Similarly, the Phrases section allows you to play melodies by pressing a single key.
- Leap: Allows you to play loops and one-shots, comes with new effects and a streamlined interface for quickly customizing samples.
- Default View: The new default view of the sidebar lets you connect MIDI effects to instruments, mix different rack instruments, and quickly load and change presets for both effects and instruments.
- Piano Uno: Kontakt 8 comes with an easy-to-use piano library.
- Improved Wavetable module: allows phase and frequency modulation and significantly expands Kontakt’s synthesis capabilities.
- Komplete UI: A developer assistant for quickly creating the look and feel of high-resolution instruments that not only sound great, but look great, too!
Adding Libraries
Adding libraries is done using Kontakt_Button.exe, located in
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 8

why is it says DEMO to all my libraries?
download bobdule version
Half of all my libraries are missing now and the rest have an activate button on each one. ?
its working ; I think you forgot to replace the native access xml file
Man thats why im not touching mine…LOL..Ive got 6.8 and something said done touch it
i dont see any instruments
Same ! Hope Bobdule will do a REV2
Please post Bob Dule Version that one works
More R2R RUBBISH! Why do you lot, still go there? 🤷♀️
The Bob Dule version is already out!
Neither version allows you to add libraries.
I always install my libraries using Kontakt 5
😂🤣 Your all fools to the evil 🇸🇮 👿
The Bob Dule version does work. You can install Kontakt 8 alongside the latest version of Kontakt 7. Or, you can uninstall Kontakt 7 and install Kontakt 8. Also overwrite the xml file. You can add libraries with: ” add library.”
It works but not with all libraries. For example NOIRE from NI does not show off.
That’s strange because i do have Noir in Kontakt 8. I uninstalled Kontakt 7 and then installed Kontakt 8 Bob Dule version. I had Noir on 7 and now i can find it in 8. Try to delete it in the register and add it again.
interesting ! You have uninstalled Kontakt 7 ? Maybe I can try this.
I mean Noire.
One question. Are you on Windows 11 ?
Yes Windows 11, latest edition.
Did not managed to solve 🙁
I don’t know what to do I am sure to have done your process :
– uninstall K7 and K8 with Revo uninstaller
– install K8 and patch it with Bobdule patcher
– click yes (or no) on native access overwrite
I still do not see all libraries and it is in read alert in the classic kontakt view
That’s tough man. You have to try to minimize the problem. Try opening K8 as an administrator. Or, go into the registry and remove the registration of an instruments folder that is booked as a Demo. Then add it again using the script add library .exe utility. Look what happens. Or else go back to K7. I’m talking about the Bob Dule version K8. It works well for me.
Neither Bob nor R2R can add libraries…
Why is that? I replaced the XML.
But I can’t add it. Why?
I don’t use the Kontakt manager to add libraries. I use the “add library.exe “file. I have just added “leap Afrobeats” and i can find it back in Kontakt 8. Also Conflux.
Where is add library.exe?
add library.exe this Kontakt_Button.exe located on the way C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 8
I found a working fix to get all libraries working in KONTAKT 8 (Bob_Dule version).
If you create a folder and cut and paste all the .json files from path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products to a new folder…
THEN use the “Kontakt_Button.exe” button in the KONTAKT 8 folder to point to your downloaded KONTAKT libraries, it should register the paths. Once this is done, you should now have new *.json files in the above path (Native Instruments\installed_products).
Re-open KONTAKT 8 and your missing libraries SHOULD be there.
Let me know if this was helpful.
This worked 100% for me.
I was able to add the library using the method you taught me. Thank you very much.
Man you are a hero ! Thanks a lot !
Glad that worked for you guys!
I am using Windows 11 and also the path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products” was hidden. I had to type it in and press enter to get to it on my system.
You can delete the old *.json files once you create the new ones with the “Kontakt)Button.exe” located in the KONTAKT 8 folder and KONTAKT sees all of your libraries.
Thanks,

It works for me. does anybody know the file path where I can find the “add library” file?
i pitty the fool ! not using Bob Dules version
just install the portable vesion
Is it really portable version or full version ? portable version is free no ?
for me the most important is: is it bobdule version? any trouble with libraries(demo mode)????
hi there any one can help me with this i have add studio drummer in my k6 and show me up demo mode …. how i fix that ? and all other instrument woks just the studio drummer demo mode ..
Great, I get a download error. Please help! 🙂
It says “patcher.exe, file not found”
Message says there’s a virus
you must disable Windows defender and protection in real time
It is a false positive – purely from the word “patcher”, the same happens with Windoze “security” for executable files with other keywords such as keygen, patcher, etc. Just run it through VirusTotal and see for yourself.
So basically, in order to use the “Button.exe” app to scan libraries, I have to turn off windows defender. I also have to tell windows defender to ignore that app so it doesn’t quarantine it and remove it.
Dang, I have to reinstall. Works great and already sees all my libraries. The GUI just doesn’t show the wallpapers of each sample library… File mode all the way.
