Past to Future Reverbs – Steel Strummer

When a MIDI library deals with strumming on an acoustic guitar, the result can often be very artificial and even disgusting, including many popular libraries. We were faced with the task of developing a strumming guitar library that should sound realistic and be very versatile in its application for all musical genres.

So we took our beloved Martin D-18 in our hands to get the typical sound of an acoustic guitar. We decided to record on a stereo system with two Schoeps CMC 5 microphones in XY position. Then we played chord after chord… Countless chords… We cleverly composed the samples into a small masterpiece, in which we can now present a realistic-sounding acoustic guitar in strumming mode.

Features

  • Authentic, tempo-independent rhythmic strumming reproduction on an acoustic guitar
  • Controllable velocity for mix-ready sound; 3 strumming articulations that are easy to handle in live mode; soft strumming – power chords, medium strumming – open chords, hard strumming – sus chords
  • 30 circle repeats per key
  • Easy-to-use interface: one octave for major chords, one for minor chords
  • Damn easy control of humanized guitar noise in sustain and normal play modes: modulation wheel – for sustain, black “C” – to stop sustain with humanized guitar noise and to stop noise

All this allows you to present a live performance quite convincingly. And the number of circular repetitions and the ease of use of the controller turn this instrument into a natural-sounding acoustic strum.

We are proud to offer you sounds you won’t find anywhere else!
