Perx Drum Gemz vol. 1 was created with the idea that drum kit sounds can be derived from rarer instruments and sound sources. A metal coil becomes a hi-hat. A beaded frame drum, struck in just the right direction, becomes a snare drum, the low C from an old Yamaha piano becomes an 808, given enough bounce to make it snap and pulsate…

Created by up-and-coming producer and creator RARE percussion, Perx reimagines the sound of percussion and drums in modern music in a subtle yet effective way.

Perx Drum Gemz is a new approach to drum sound creation. All sounds are recorded from an incredible collection of world instruments and textures, which are then processed and transformed into punchy drum sounds that sound different from most other drum kits for producers.
