{HOW TO “INSTALL” THIS PACKAGE USING THE SymLink Installer .CMD FILES?}
Although the description below is long, the point is simple:
A) AFTER SAVE THE WORK, delete some folders, possibly left over from previous installations;
B) run the batch file for creating symlinks (Windows Junction Points) – SymLink Installer.cmd;
C) point the DAW to the scan path for VST2 plugins (C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins),
D) start the DAW, scan for new plugins by running them and (if required) register.
The “installation” steps are indicated in curly braces.
Explanations (read only if necessary) are highlighted in spoilers (or in triple square brackets in the txt file attached to the distribution).

[WHAT IS SYMLINK (SYMBOL LINK, SymLink)?]

A symlink (a symbolic link, in the case of a folder, the required type of symlink is Windows Junction Points)
is a special kind of link to a folder or file,
which is perceived by programs that read them as a real folder or file,
although it is only a link, the real source of which is located elsewhere on disk.

ATTENTION!
Deleting a symlink does not delete the folder referenced by that symlink.
Deleting something when entering inside the symlink folder, leads to the actual deletion of what is being deleted.

[IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO WITHOUT INSTALLATION USING THE .CMD FILES OF THE SymLink Installer?]

Yes. SymLink Installer CMD files are optional,
you can just copy the files according to the folder names inside the ..\C\ folder,
and also pay attention to the presence or absence of *.reg registry files, keygen … etc. inside the package.

{0} {Preinstallation of required system software}
Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages
required for many plugins (if not installed or partially installed)

{1} {Proper unzipping of the package}
Open the .exe file of the package with the help of the installed 7-zip.org archiver (without using drag and drop), and extract the contents of the .exe
to any disk for permanent storage – so that you do not delete it later *, for example, to the folder:
D:\Synchro Arts
– not deep by nesting of folders, briefly by name, from letters, numbers, spaces, underscores, dots,
without other non-alphabetic characters, without Cyrillic and other national alphabets.
* For proper operation of symlinks formed by running the batch file SymLink Installer.cmd,
MOVE, DELETE, RENAME ANYTHING IN THE DISTRIBUTION CONTENT IS UNACCEPTABLE.
{2} {Preliminary cleaning of possible “remains” of earlier versions of the package}
{2.1} ATTENTION! Save the developments (presets, etc.) of the one being deleted.
{2.2} Uninstall (or remove if there is no uninstaller) previous versions of the installable.
{2.3} Check for the absence of folders in the places where symlinks will be created (IF FOLDERS ARE LEAVE THEN SYMLINKS WILL NOT BE CREATED),
and delete the remaining (if any) folders after uninstallation according to the list {FOLDERS OF THE PACKAGE CONTENTS FINAL LOCATION} .
{FOLDERS OF PACKAGE CONTENT DESTINATION}

The content of the package is located in the folders listed below (“C\” means the system drive – “C:\”).
To successfully create symlinks, before running the SymLink Installer .CMD files, you need to make sure that these folders do not exist.
NOTE. For a quick answer to the question “Do I need to delete any folders before running SymLink Installer?”
you can run Existing Folders.cmd – if any folders are not opened during its operation, then they do not exist and you do not need to delete them.
After running the SymLink Installer, the Existing Folders.cmd batch file allows you to quickly open all folders of installed content.
The following is a list of folders required for the package to work (some of them may not be required, and some may be critical for performance).
The “-” characters (before the paths below) indicate which folders are not needed for the 32-bit version of Windows.
– C\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Revoice Pro 3
– C\Program Files\Synchro Arts Ltd\Revoice Pro (64bit)
– C\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Revoice Pro 3
C\Program Files (x86)\Synchro Arts Ltd\VocALign Project Pro 2
C\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Synchro Arts Shared
ATTENTION! As a rule, the use of Cyrillic during registration and in the name of the user folder (Current User Name) leads to the impossibility of registration and normal operation of the software.
ATTENTION! If the name of the system drive differs from “C:\”, you need to pay attention to the attached registry files (if any in this package) and correct the name of the system drive in them to the required one.

{3} {Actually “installation”}
For instant installation based on symlinks,
run as administrator (via the context menu) the batch file* SymLink Installer.cmd.
* [WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF .CMD FILES?]

NOTE. CMD files are files for automating file system operations and Windows administration.
REFERENCE. ab57.ru/cmd.html
In this particular case, .CMD files provide for creating symlinks or deleting symlinks or real folders.
SymLink Installer.cmd – creates symbolic links to folders and files from the ..\C\ folder.

SymLink Installer.cmd consists of blocks:
– obtaining administrative rights (for creating symlinks in system folders);
– determining the bitness of Windows OS (x86 or x64);
– creating symlinks for x64 Windows;
– creating symlinks for x86 Windows.

SymLink DeInstaller.cmd – removes symbolic links to folders from ..\C\ or !!! normal folders !!!.

SymLink DeInstaller.cmd consists of blocks:
– obtaining administrative rights (to delete symlinks or folders in system folders);
– determining the bitness of Windows OS (x86 or x64);
– removal of symlinks or real folders for x64 Windows;
– removal of symlinks or real folders for x86 Windows.

ATTENTION! If you have trouble starting SymLink*.cmd (“infinite run”), open the batch files and remove the snippet from the line:
:: BatchGotAdmin BEGIN sites.google.com/site/eneerge/home/BatchGotAdmin | ss64.com/nt/rem.html | ss64.com/nt/cacls.html
and line by line:
:: BatchGotAdmin END
inclusive. This snippet is responsible for “Run as administrator”.
When deleting it, you need to run batch files through the context menu item (right-click) above the file, selecting “Run as administrator”.
Utilities:
Existing Folders.cmd – checks the existence of folders according to the list from the item {FOLDERS OF PACKAGE CONTENTS ENDING DISTRIBUTION} and opens them as separate windows if they exist.
FoldersList.cmd – creates a list of folders inside the ..\C\ folder.

[How does the MKLINK command that creates a symlink work?]

Help on MKLINK: ab57.ru/cmdlist/mklink.html
To create a symlink, the folder in which it is created must be created in advance.
Example:
cmd /c mkdir “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins”
This command creates a real folder “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins”, making it possible to create a symlink inside it.
Example command for creating a symlink:
cmd /c MKLINK /j “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\MyFolder” “%~dp0C\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins\MyFolder”
The command creates a symlink named MyFolder inside the folder “C: \Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins”,
while a link to the source folder is stored inside the symlink – “%~dp0C\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins\MyFolder”.
%~dp0 – instead of this code, when executing a .cmd file, the full path to the folder from which the .cmd file is launched will be substituted.
cmd /c – code for calling the command processor for executing batch files.
/j is the key for creating a symlink to a folder, not to a file.
ATTENTION!
Deleting a symlink does not delete the folder referenced by that symlink.
Deleting something when entering inside the symlink folder, leads to the actual deletion of what is being deleted.

[HOW TO UNLOCK CREATING SYMLINKS FOR ProTools FILES?]

To unlock the creation of symlinks for ProTools files, remove the comment statement (symbols “REM “) at the beginning of the following lines of the SymLink Installer.cmd file:
REM cmd /c mkdir “%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins”
REM cmd /c mklink /j “%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Revoice Pro 3” “%~dp0C\Program Files\ Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Revoice Pro 3”

{4} {Final step}
Installation completed. Next, you need to open your DAW,
specify an additional scan path for VST plugins in the DAW settings: C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins
and perform an update plugin scan.
