Basslane Pro combines transparent stereo width control with innovative solutions for preserving musical content that would otherwise be lost when mixing to mono. With applications far beyond mono, Basslane Pro offers sophisticated ways to enhance bass width, punch, and richness. The unique Stereo Harmonics feature adds upper bass harmonics for increased clarity and controlled bass width without distorting the stereo image in subwoofers. Easy-to-use multi-band dynamics processing based on our renowned Unisum compressor makes it easy to tame unruly transients or enhance bass punch and density.

Perfect Stereo in the Low Frequency Range

A little stereo never hurt anyone, but it is important to be aware of phase issues and excessive width in the low frequencies, especially when listening to vinyl records or in clubs. Basslane Pro provides continuous and accurate narrowing or widening of the stereo base in the low/mid frequencies using high-quality linear phase processing to produce an undistorted stereo image. In addition, Basslane Pro offers new solutions for preserving valuable music content that has undergone width correction.

Wideband compression with multi-band control

At the heart of Unisum is a unique multi-band detection path that provides absolute control. The sidechain is divided into 3 frequency ranges, each with parallel RMS and peak detectors. The result is efficient and musical level tracking with the ability to flexibly adjust the response to perfectly match any track. You can also adjust frequency-dependent threshold, ratio, and attack/release… all without destructive crossovers in the audio path.

Mono Bass Without Losing Momentum

Mono Recovery is a unique feature of Basslane Pro that preserves out-of-phase low frequencies that are commonly found in wide synth basses and heavily processed tracks. When played in mono or using other mono processors, such signals drop significantly in level or disappear completely, resulting in an obvious lack of low frequencies. Mono Recovery prevents this by allowing them to be mixed back into the bass, while maintaining its power even in mono.

Add Width with Stereo Harmonics

Basslane Pro introduces a new way to add width and character. While keeping the lowest frequencies in mono, Basslane Pro allows you to add upper harmonics based on the mono low frequencies and pan them in width. The result is a natural-sounding stereo width that is musically connected to the bass, without the problematic stereo in subwoofers. With flexible settings for adjusting the character and spread, Stereo Harmonics can be used to enrich the bass for playback on small speakers, to add subtle volume, or to create pronounced spatial coloration.

Dynamics powered by Unisum

The Dynamics section of Basslane Pro includes two multi-band versions of our famous Unisum mastering compressor, tailored to compress or expand only the frequency range you specify. Side mode makes it easy to suppress overly dynamic side information or add dynamic stereo widening. Stereo mode is tuned to boost and add weight to the low frequencies. With a few basic settings, it’s incredibly easy to use, yet sounds great and helps you achieve perfect bass definition.
