Tone Projects – Kelvin v1.5.5 for WiN

Kelvin combines flexible two-stage saturation control with a powerful push-pull EQ to create an inspiring new way to shape sounds.

Deceptively simple to use, Kelvin offers detailed saturation models, top-notch performance , and extensive sonic capabilities in just a few settings. Choose your favorite combination of multiple transformer, tube, and diode circuits to give tracks rich harmonic coloration and warm saturation, or get creative with frequency-dependent distortion and beautiful analog-style sound processing.

Key Highlights

  • Add rich harmonic color, thickness, and high-quality shine to tracks and complete mixes
  • Increase loudness, punch, and RMS with mastering-grade signal integrity
  • Explore wide sonic possibilities by combining different transformer, tube, and diode circuits
  • Shape saturation by frequency for fine-tuning or creative sound shaping
  • Combine saturation with musical analog EQ, including classic passive lows and highs
  • Add width and dimension with unique harmonic mapping

Interactive two-stage saturation system

The Kelvin system is built around two flexible saturation stages that can be placed in series, parallel, or middle/side to create unique and complex sonic interactions. You get deep, vibrant sound and a huge palette of tones available simply by exploring model combinations, gain order, and placement. Choose the smallest transformer thickness and switch it to tube mode for a touch of high-end sweetness, or find the perfect combination of noisy diode clipping and warm tube overdrive.

Uncompromising detailing

Using carefully tuned algorithms and high-precision oversampling, Kelvin goes from subtle coloration to powerful timbral distortion without losing musicality. Choose from 10 highly detailed, program-specific saturation models, each with its own distinct sonic flavor. Combine complex models from renowned analog devices with modern models that add pure 2nd/3rd order harmonics, or custom models that combine qualities from multiple sources for a sound that is uniquely Kelvin.

Depth, dimension and clarity

The innovative harmonic distribution function creates stereo width by using small differences in the harmonics generated on the left and right channels. It is a unique and natural way to add spaciousness to both stereo and mono sources without affecting the compatibility of mono playback. The anti-blur function reduces high-frequency saturation and eliminates artifacts, maintaining clarity even when the input signal is distorted.

Creative tone control

Intuitive Kelvin pre- and post-filters let you adjust saturation and frequency alignment separately. Raise or lower frequency saturation without affecting tonal balance to fine-tune or radically change the character of saturation, then use the EQ to seamlessly shape harmonics, density, and overall tonal balance. Choose from multiple filters with musical curves and analog phase response, or add extra color with classic Pultec-style bands expanded by continuously variable frequency control.

Possibilities

  • Two-stage saturation system with separate gain control and model for each stage
  • Freely combine 10 highly detailed transformer, tube and diode saturation circuit models
  • Place saturation stages in series, parallel or mid/side mode
  • Flexible tone shaping filters let you adjust saturation based on frequency and overall tonal balance
  • Great-sounding analogue filters, including passive Pultec-style low and high pass ranges
  • Unique harmonic “Spread” function to create width through subtle harmonic deviations
  • “Smear” function to reduce mid-high frequency saturation and remove artifacts
  • Optional smooth output volume control lets you smooth out peaks or add a 3rd stage of gain
  • Automatic output gain lets you balance volume while maintaining a musical crescendo
  • Smooth modulation of key audio frequency parameters
  • Dry/Wet control mode for easy parallel processing
  • 4 quality modes, from low latency to flawless using high-precision linear phase resampling
  • Option to always use the highest quality for offline rendering
  • A/B preset switching
  • Built-in reference level system to automatically adjust input level according to loaded presets
  • Presets created by experienced artists and engineers
  • Native support for Intel and Apple silicon
