8Dio – Misfit 3 Stringed Diddley Bow

After we removed the best equipment, the most modern studios, the most expensive instruments and even the best musicians, only the soul remained. This is exactly what we wanted to study: a human, urban and unique product.

The 3 Stringed Diddley Bow was made from a metal biscuit box, a wooden stick and three guitar strings. The neck of a bottle was used for the slides, which created a completely unique sound. We recorded it with two different mic positions and used a true gelato technique to capture both the fast and slow slides.

Our idea was to go back to the roots of modern music, bringing a rough and tumble tone with the flavor of authentic old-style blues. We also included our Chaos FX Engine 3.3, so you get not only a unique product, but also a set of effects that will open up unlimited possibilities.
