In this EZX, drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) and engineer Chris Rackestro (Megadeth, Deftones, Parkway Drive) team up to bring you the ultimate metal expansion for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3. It features three unique kits, a plethora of snares and kicks, and over 30 cymbals – all flawlessly recorded in one of the world’s most famous hard rock and metal studios: Studio A at One On One in Los Angeles. 

Massive-sounding, warm and alive, yet dense and aggressive at the same time, this room has all the qualities to move air in a way that feels like it was made for powerful metal drums. This is borne out by the many defining records that have been recorded here, some of which include the likes of Megadeth’s “Rust in Peace,” Metallica’s “…And Justice for All” and “The Black Album,” Dream Theater’s “Awake,” and Testament’s “The Ritual.”

Each of the three included drum kits represents its own niche sound. One covers Dirk’s current touring kit, another his tenure with Soilwork, and the third was hand-picked to offer a completely contrasting tone and atmosphere. Overall, you’ll have a balanced yet eclectic palette of kits, covering everything from loud, aggressive, and punchy to big, low, and warm.

In addition to the sounds, there are a ton of ready-to-mix presets, as well as a collection of drum grooves and fills, allowing you to instantly start creating drum parts that perfectly combine Dirk’s patented brand of drum madness with Rakestraw’s crystal-clear engineering.

With the aim of creating the EZX archetype to encompass every conceivable facet of heaviness – from the raw onslaught of old school thrash and powerful modern metal to the expressive, fusion-like and progressive – the team has exceeded all expectations.
