Luftrum – Symbiotic Volume 2 (OMNISPHERE 3)

Symbiotic Volume 2 continues the creative collaboration, offering a new collection of presets for Omnisphere 3.

After several meetings with British sound designer Tom Wolfe at the Superbooth exhibition over the years, inviting him to work on the second chapter of Symbiotic was a natural decision. The result is a bank for Omnisphere, comprising 70 expressive presets (55 by Luftrum, 15 by Wolfe), which combine two unique approaches to sound design.

This is what makes such collaborations so intriguing. Different perceptions, different perspectives, and different methods of sound shaping bring subtle contrasts to the collection, while maintaining the unity of the overall concept.

At the heart of Symbiotic Volume 2 lies a quiet dialogue between analog and digital, organic and electronic. Some sounds seem imbued with earthly warmth, while others reach into deep space, revealing a sense of endless depth, mystery, and quiet wonder.

Natural soundscapes intertwine with expressive synthesizer timbres. Soaring cosmic arpeggios play over evolving pads, while analog keyboard timbres lend chords and melodies a classic Vangelis-esque quality. Most presets utilize the modulation wheel and aftertouch, allowing you to add dynamics, variation, and expressiveness as you play.

Like the first volume, Symbiotic Volume 2 includes a bonus collection of 27 select presets created using the Mutation feature, further expanding the sound palette. You’ll also receive six high-resolution desktop wallpapers featuring nebula images. They’ll help set the perfect ambiance for your creative sessions.
