Luftrum – Symbiotic Volume 1 (OMNISPHERE 3)

Symbiotic is a new series of collaborative sound packs for Omnisphere 3, bringing together sound designers passionate about electronic and ambient music, atmospheric soundscapes, and the art of creating deep, immersive soundscapes.

For the first release, I invited my friend Karl Löfgren, better known as Plughugger, to work on it. Karl’s signature style blends seamlessly with my own approach, giving the Omnisphere library a distinctive Scandinavian ambient feel. Since Karl is Swedish and I am Danish, the sound of Symbiotic Volume 1 is imbued with the spirit of Nordic landscapes and moods.

The pack includes 100 presets: 60 by Luftrum, 25 by Plughugger, and 15 multi-instruments (Multis). The sounds range from ambient and electronica to liminal states. Expressive polyphonic synthesizers, lingering, slowly evolving pads, organic textures, delicate split-key timbres, and melodic sequences and arpeggios await you. Symbiotic offers not only versatile presets you’ll want to return to again and again, but also bold, unconventional solutions born from curiosity and creative exploration—unique sounds that give the collection its distinctive character.

The inspiration for this pack is diverse: we drew inspiration from artists such as Biosphere, Boards of Canada, Vangelis, Brian Eno, Ørneheart, Loscil, Ishq, Röyksopp, and Jon Hopkins, while maintaining our own distinctive identity and sound.

Symbiotic Volume 1 also includes a bonus: Symbiotic Volume 1 Mutations—a separate set of 40 select variations created using the new Mutation feature in Omnisphere 3. We generated hundreds of variations from the core presets, then selected the best ones for this additional collection.
