Splice Sounds – MJ Cole’s House & Garage Essentials Sample Pack (WAV)

The work of MJ Cole, one of the first real stars of British garage, included albums nominated for Mercury Prize, and a long career as a remixer and producer. Now he has brought his dance sounds to Splice. This pack includes underground sounds, complete with samples fit for a radio hit. You’ll find house beats, syncopated percussion, rhythm and blues rhythms, soulful vocals, bop keys and synths with pop elements.
The London-based musician and producer, born Matt Coleman, began his career as a staff engineer for the drum and bass label SOUR. He was introduced to UK Garage in 1997 by Ramsey and Fehn, with whom he worked as Rafmat, and the DJs from the pirate radio station London Underground, who worked with MJ Cole on tracks for VIP (Very Important Plastic).
MJ Cole’s widely acclaimed 2000 debut album “Sincere” was a landmark release for the genre, adopting a pirated radio sound while emphasizing soul and R&B influences. After 2003’s Cut to the Chase, a large number of guest sets touching British hip hop and ragga, Cole was still busy remixing artists such as Mariah Carey and Amy Winehouse, collaborating with artists ranging from Dizzy Rascal and ending with Bruno Mars, and constantly studied rhythms from his solo EPs and singles. He returned to his classic roots with the 2020 MJ Cole Presents Madrugada released on Decca.
