Helios Type 69 consoles are known for their smooth and harmonious sound, which can be heard on the legendary recordings of
Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, the Who, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Bob Marley.
Lindell’s 69 Channel Strip faithfully reproduces this classic tone in plug-in form.
~ The sound of the original analog console with enhanced features~
Beloved for their unique sounding preamps, precise filters, smooth and musical EQs, Helios arguably
created the coolest consoles of the 60s and 70s. Chosen by The Rolling Stones for their famous mobile
recording studio and used to record Led Zeppelin’s longest-running albums, the Helios consoles were easy to operate
but offered a complex and distinctive tone that was hard to resist.
The Lindell plug-in complements the original by bringing the EQs and compressors of the Helios bus directly to the channel strip.
Description Continued
Two classic EQs per channel :
Lindell emulation combines two Helios EQs into one channel band. First is the Pre-EQ-69, a 3-band active bell filter designed for musical-sounding boosts and cuts that can add presence and air without harshness and fullness to low frequencies without excessive hum. Then there’s a passive 69, 2-band shelving EQ with a smooth, musical response to add depth, warmth and detail with minimal extra coloration.
Includes HUGE-Sounding FET Compression :
The powerful F760 compressors/limiters used in some of the most iconic drum sounds in history were part of what made the Helios line so compelling. The only downside is that they were designed and implemented as bus compressors, so you could never reasonably have one on every channel…until now. The F760, with its distinctive sound and variable attack, release and ratio settings, is often seen as a fun and flexible alternative to the 1176 by the few engineers lucky enough to own or use it.
Use it anywhere :
Channel 69 Lindell can add warmth, presence and character to vocals, helping them stand out in the mix. Use it to add punch and definition to drum recordings, or to shape the tone of guitars – adding warmth, body and sparkle to your sound. It can give numeric keypads and synths extraordinary character and depth, bring out the natural warmth of bass instruments, or lend a cohesive, three-dimensional and distinctly “analogue” tone to any mix.
