BchoSoft – ToneX Liberated Capture Packs v07.2026 for WiN
This seems rather pointless, to be honest; what does it bring to TONEX that TONEX doesn’t already offer? “liberated capture packs” from where? IK Multimedia regularly releases new packs. I can’t find anything else on this Bchosoft, especially demos, nothing to see or listen to. WTF?

Tonex relies on Tone Models and presets for the various sounds. Of course the normal install of Tonex (or Tonex MAX) have a default type db that holds a large number of the IK MULTIMEDIA Tonex Paks.
Tonex is used and well like for awhile now so there are literally hundreds, dare I say thousands of TONEX PAKS available. Choptones, Matt Fig, etc. etc. etc..These ARE NOT IKM…
Bcho has developed a tool that will “unlock” the various NON-IKM Tonex Paks for your use.. I’ve tried it, and it works great..
There are a ton of good tones out there NOT under the IKM flag..

How do we use these? Is there a way to import them all at once? I can only load one at a time.
Whoa there.. There are perhaps 1000 or more profiles in the Capture Pak download… You will be looking and testing for months.
IMHO it is better to browse the Paks folder, and pick something.. All at one time is mind boggling with the sheer number of choices available with this download..
Open Tonex
In the left folder area, scroll down and “Add Folder”..
After adding the folder, go back to the preset and Import presets..
Follow the dialogue. Import that one folder of presets…
If you open the new folder and make a selection PRIOR to doing the BCHO Tool you should receive that annoying little burst of white noise and a message saying they don’t have the tone model when you try that preset..
Run any of the BCHO tools… Either on your library.db or running the 2nd tool against specific TXP files…
Worked great for me… I copied my entire Tonex folder off before I played with anything but yeah boy… I got more profiles than I could ever look at..

Over 57k presets, from what I can tell! 😮 Indeed, gonna be going through these for a LONG time!
I was confused by the reference to “BCHO tools”. I kept looking in the zip folder and couldn’t figure it out until I found the GIT repository. Makes sense now. Perhaps a link could be added to the original post for others who may be confused also?
Hands down the greatest gift for Tonex users yet. Pity it’s greatness is misunderstood by comments above.
As expected though, after imported ALL the .txp file into the .lib file, Tonex is VERY slow. Anyone have any tips on a better way to manage them, make Tonex faster or is it just best practice to import one at a time instead to keep the library at a manageable size?
It’d be great if it were possible to have a self hosted fake server that Tonex could be tricked into thinking was the IK one and use the interface like you would normally.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here.
Bcho **NEVER** publishes preset or model packs.
Bcho has developed an application for the Tonex user community. This application does do some things that can’t be done with Tonex, such as merging libraries.
This is a presets pack and this is not true: Original Publisher: BchoSoft
You should better respect other’s work and express politelly when not having an idea of what you’re criticising. Bcho developes solutions for achieving operations that can´t be solved by IK Mulrimedia’s crappy and caped software or by any other means.
And best above all, It’s for free! So you first learn and then criticise.
