Memorymode 2 is a virtual instrument inspired by one of the most iconic polyphonic programmable analog synthesizers of the 1980s — the legendary Memorymoog. This is not just an update to the basic version. 

Cherry Audio completely redesigned its famous flagship synthesizer for 2021, applying advanced analysis and emulation techniques, which resulted in unrivaled precision and accuracy. We’ve also significantly expanded its capabilities, making Memorymode 2 a full-fledged successor to both the original synthesizer and our innovative version.

The 1982 Memorymoog set a new standard for sound quality with its rich analog tones. It featured six-voice polyphony and is often referred to as “six Minimoogs in one,” featuring 18 voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a Moog ladder filter with a 24 dB/octave slope. Cherry Audio’s Memorymode model, modeled after a vintage Memorymoog synthesizer once owned by jazz legend Chick Corea, improved on the original design without sacrificing sound or functionality, while also addressing the reliability, maintenance, and setup issues often associated with the hardware.

• A highly optimized, massive dual-layer architecture with 16 polyphonic voices per layer. Split and layer modes allow simultaneous use of two layers with separate controls for all parameters, including synthesis, modulation, patterns, and effects.
