GForce Software – Oberheim OB-E v2.5.0

OB-E – OBERHEIM’S OCTAPHONIC SOUND ADVENTURE Oberheim OB-E is our version of the legendary Oberheim® 8-Voice and the first software instrument personally endorsed by Tom Oberheim. OB-E is more than just emulation, it offers a unique musical experience. Sounds HUGE, it takes the iconic 8-voice Synthesizer Expander Module (SEM®) (aka EVS) into new sonic territory with a host of improvements and additions.
The concept of 8-voice is actually very simple; based on a single SEM containing two VCOs with pulse and sawtooth waveforms, two ADS envelope generators, one LFO and a magic multi-mode filter. Individually, each SEM is monophonic, but in 8-Voice, since the eight SEMs are activated by the polyphonic keyboard, you get an excellent eight-note polyphonic synth.
This unique octaphonic architecture offers fresh and exciting creative possibilities for music producers, composers and sound engineers for the first time in the digital realm.

AN ADDITIONAL BUT AUTHENTIC TOOL –
We have painstakingly emulated every part of the synthesizer to ensure sonic fidelity, adding the convenience of programmatic control of these eight SEMs. Mono, Mono Legato, Poly, Unison and Split keyboard modes are available. Add to that a new VCO3 that doubles the speed of the LFO sound for every SEM, and a stack of additional performance controls with velocity, polyphonic aftertouch, and MPE control, and you begin to understand the depth of musical possibilities that OB-E provides.
PATCH SELECTION –
700 factory designed patches for the mix, all tags and categories.
COOPERATION WITH OBERHEIM AND NEW VINTAGE CONTROL –
As we approached the release of OB-E®, we were contacted by Tom Oberheim and Markus Reil (an engineer from Oberheim in the 1980s) who were so impressed that they offered to collaborate, offering support to improve OB-E and release the v2 update bringing their full approval. Despite winning several Best Soft Synth 2021 awards, working under the guidance of Tom and Marcus, we have further improved the already incredible sound of OB-E. An improved Detune function and the addition of a new Vintage control make it possible to more realistically reproduce musical inaccuracies consistent with the original instrument for a truly authentic 8-voice experience.
NEW IN OB-E V2 (NOW MACOS AND WINDOWS) –
The improved OB-E V2 is an accurate 8-voice Oberheim® emulation, thanks to the new Vintage control and improved Detune parameter. Plus, it’s now available for both macOS and Windows.
OB-E V2 includes a new reverb, over 100 new patches (over 700 in total), a new zoom function for the sequencer, and a crazy new drum mode that lets you trigger each SEM with a dedicated key. We’ve also added 10 drum presets to get you started. If you’re looking for a new analog drum machine, give it a try, it might surprise you.
