Iconic Instruments – SP140 Plate Reverb v1.0.1 for WiN

Iconic Instruments’ SP140 is a faithful version of five famous examples of the revered German steel-plate reverbs, first introduced in 1957 and ubiquitous on your favorite records throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and even to this day.

Powered by the Gorilla Engine and created in collaboration with Numerical Sound, the SP140 includes classic features like pre-delay control, send width, a filter section with high- and low-pass filters and a custom node, tail length adjustment from 6 seconds to just 20 ms (much shorter than an analog unit), and a mix control with a handy Solo switch for listening to just the reverb.

But the SP140 also boasts some new features compared to the original, such as a 5-position Density control that ranges from rich, plate-like sounds to a subtle, transparent blur without sacrificing the fullness of the reverb. Additionally, the Drive function delivers classic tube distortion that can be applied pre- or post-reverb, while the high- and low-pass controls allow you to precisely position the distortion within the desired frequency range. Finally, choose from twenty carefully crafted presets that range from classic references to modern and even abstract examples.
