Michael Brauer’s MHB Red

MHB Red designed in collaboration with Michael Brauer—is modeled after Grammy-winning engineer Michael H. Brauer’s (Coldplay, John Mayer, Florence and the Machine) personal Fairchild* 666, capturing the behavior of the compressor that has been a key part of his vocal chain for decades.

A Fairchild like no other – the 666 was a hybrid Fairchild opto compressor, distinct from the delta-mu 660 and 670. Its unique combination of tube amplification and transistor control creates a musical compression character – part compressor, part saturated unit.

Modernized controls with vintage soul – Attack, Ratio, Threshold, Release, and Makeup Gain controls have been updated for an intuitive workflow, and a dedicated THD lets you adjust everything from subtle tube warmth to aggressive saturation.

Designed for the mix – sidechain high- and low-pass filters, stereo link, wet/dry mix for parallel compression, and Kazrog’s Analog Entropy feature for authentic component variations between channels.
