Filmed in his private studio in Wales, this episode covers the entire process of mixing the song “Love & Hate” by Her, which was recorded by Andrew Sheps and documented in our first episode of Recording the Band! Given a multi-track track and a rough mix from Andrew, Tchad imports them into his unique Pro Tools session, which he explains in detail.
He continues to combine masterfully recorded vocals, drums, bass, guitars and synths using a variety of bold mixing techniques. You will see him using various plugins for EQ, compression, distortion, spatialization, effects and more. Even though he works entirely digitally, Tchad always achieves the character and texture of tape and analog processing with a modern twist!
