LEGENDARY TRANSPARENCY
The Pulsar 8200 is an exact replica of the legendary GML 8200, designed by George Massenburg*, the inventor of the parametric equalizer. Today, full EQ control is a formality, but back then, it was a stunning innovation.
Like the original, the Pulsar 8200 delivers tight, rich lows, crystal-clear highs, and surgically precise control over the frequency spectrum. It faithfully reproduces the fully discrete, Class-A analog electronics that made the original famous in the 1980s and is still used today.
The parallel topology combined with unique filter shapes provides intuitive and unique spectrum shaping, resulting in smooth curves and a more natural result than a classic digital equalizer, while maintaining the “analog personality”.
The Pulsar 8200
is a component-accurate model of the original unit that perfectly reproduces its unique filter shapes and parallel EQ behavior, delivering a natural sound even when using EQ that other units would struggle to match.
Get more than just hardware with the added benefits of Pulsar. We’ve added high- and low-pass filtering, a tilt filter for adjusting the overall tonal balance of the entire spectrum, and Air and Sub bands for working at the extremes of the audio spectrum.
The Pulsar 8200 takes full advantage of modern processors to do more with less. Despite the immense complexity of its audio algorithms, you can use multiple instances. The resizable interface, combined with a wide range of modern features, will make the Pulsar 8200 your favorite transparent equalizer.
Mastering
The precise and versatile Pulsar 8200 equalizer is a superstar among master bus equalizers. It delivers clinical precision when you need to reveal the side frequencies and focus on the center of your mix. The tilt function allows you to easily adjust the tonal balance of your mix. You can easily create complex EQ curves to enhance your mixes and master recordings.
Orchestral / Acoustic
Designed to enhance the natural and vibrant sound of acoustic instruments, live recordings, organic percussion, and vocals. Thanks to its filter shape and parallel topology, the Pulsar 8200 is ideal for fine-tuning acoustic pianos and emphasizing specific frequencies to fully unlock the instrument’s potential. This equalizer allows you to easily preserve the natural and vibrant sound of acoustic sources, ensuring your mix always sounds great.
Electronic Music
Whether you’re struggling with volume or simply pushing the limits of bass, shaping the low frequencies in a drum kit or bassline is crucial, especially in electronic music or modern pop. The Pulsar 8200 is a game-changer in this area thanks to its unparalleled sonic fidelity. You can even apply subsonic corrections (15 Hz) to achieve cleaner, more powerful bass.
Vocals & Guitars
Make vocals more expressive by removing sibilance in the 6-8 kHz range with the built-in de-esser. This feature can also be used to gently compress the harmonic content of an electric guitar track that’s too aggressive in the 2000-4000 Hz range, preserving the high-frequency energy and eliminating any unwanted frequencies.

“As a former owner of this equipment, I can say that the 8200 is a brilliant model of the legendary equalizer. And… with the additional plugin features, it’s a real find. It’s one of those plugins you simply must install, even if you only listened to it for 30 seconds.”
“The 8200 is so close to the hardware that it’s already become an integral part of my mixing rig. A very transparent equalizer that could quickly become my favorite distortion tool thanks to the outstanding additional features it comes with. It’s as if all the best elements of other equalizers were collected in one place, and they sound so much better here!”
