Sonuscore – Nordic Spheres

From the frozen expanses of the North, icy spirits reach across the eternal expanses to capture the listener with their song. NORDIC SPHERES captures the frosty tone of the ancients, a transporting granular instrument that creates a rough, pulsating atmosphere that echoes through time and desolation. 

Featuring a raw, ambient sound ideal for creating an atmosphere as palpable as thick fog, it combines layers of musical realms and sound effects with simple yet complex arpeggiators. Abandoned, mysterious scores freeze in the tracks of modern cinematic music.

NORDIC SPHERES reveals the essence of the beautiful Icelandic nature: from almost endless ice fields to the fiery horrors of volcanic fury. It is a Kontakt instrument that creates vast, frozen soundscapes and musical realms using a combination of rich sound effects, detailed synthesis and percussive sounds. 

We worked with Mats Lundgren and Amina Hosin of the Swedish company Pole Position to create a treasure trove of rich tonal and non-tonal sounds from a variety of creative sources. Mats’ recordings combined with our layering and arpeggiator capabilities created a truly inspiring instrument.

NORDIC SPHERES was created from a variety of distorted, atypical tonal and unconventional sounds and effects mixed like falling glaciers. There are four layers from which complex textures can be created, each with its own ADSR, arpeggiator and FX settings that include EQ, saturation, chorus and tremolo.

When developing NORDIC SPHERES, large glacier movements were taken into account. Our Grain Engine was a natural choice to achieve this goal, so like snowflakes clapping, no two sounds are the same. Meanwhile, our advanced arpeggiator engine allows you to create complex weaves across the audio spectrum, while the modulation knob controls any number of motion FX.
