Unisom is a modern mastering compressor based on a new topology that combines impeccable sound with unrivaled musical flexibility.
Created in collaboration with experienced mastering professionals, Unisom delivers clean, wide-band compression controlled by flexible multi-band recognition and extensive envelope and transfer curve control. Whether you want to add glue or groove, shape dynamic contours, or solve a complex mixing problem, Unisom will help you achieve your goal with precision and integrity.
Key Points
- Add depth and energy without sacrificing the integrity of your source material
- Control your stereo image and add natural width
using Mid/Sides mode and flexible channel layout - Add sparkle and bonding glue to any mix, regardless of style
- Shape curves for perfect grip and movement
- Adapt every detail to compression to perfectly fit your material
- Tackle complex challenges holistically, with the highest possible accuracy and fidelity
Exceptionally clean compression
One of the most appealing features of Unisum is its incredibly clean compression. With extremely low intermodulation distortion and virtually no digital aliasing, Unisum is on par with high-end analog gear. Combined with music level detection, program-dependent envelopes, and smooth gain reduction, Unisum delivers transparent compression that is ideal for program material that requires the highest fidelity.
Wideband compression with multiband control
At the heart of Unisum is a unique multi-band detection channel that provides enormous control. The side chain is divided into 3 frequency ranges, each equipped with parallel RMS and peak sensors. The result is effective yet flexible music level tracking, allowing you to tailor the response to perfectly match any track. You can also adjust the frequency-dependent threshold, ratio, and attack/attenuation of the sound. All this without disruptive transitions in the audio path.
Complete creative control
Unlike automated “AI” tools and oversimplified one-size-fits-all compressors, Unisum provides granular control that lets you precisely respond to what your ears and emotions tell you to produce the most impressive sound. Adjust attack and release curves and set specific time intervals for transients. Shape the transfer curve. Filter and limit channel connections, and more.
Use it when you need it
Unisum stays clean until you tell it not to. Turn on the HYGGE circuit to add power to the mastering-grade transformer and tube driver. HYGGE, which is highly level- and frequency-dependent by nature, adds a subtle weight and thickness to any sound. With the memory effect, you can mimic the software-dependent behavior of optical compressors or modify it to get a completely different feel. Or you might want to increase the RMS detector speed for minimal results.
