The instrument promises the same level of convenience and flexibility, as well as high-quality sound and realism, inherent in the entire EZline line. Like other libraries in the series, Virtual Bassist combines MIDI work with advanced skills in writing bass lines in a variety of styles of music.

The library includes two instruments – a modern and a vintage bass. The developers do not name specific guitar models, claiming that the sound of the library relies more on physical signal modeling rather than samples. One way or another, the vintage model hints at the sound of a Fender Precision Bass, while the modern model hints at the sound of Schecter basses. Both virtual basses are five-string.

The library supports various articulations, including legato, vibrato, slides, hammers and pools, harmonics and other sound production techniques. EZbass has a built-in effects section consisting of emulations of bass amps and cabinets, as well as effects pedals and rack processing.

There is also an extensive library of grooves. All MIDI parts are recorded with the highest attention to the nuances of performance. Grooves are divided into styles, and the library engine adapts the grooves to the key of the project. The library of examples is large, but knowing Toontrack’s policy, you can expect an active bombardment of additions with MIDI grooves and new bass guitars in the near future.
