Since its release, Hyperion has received over 40 updates that have developed and continue to improve its sound capabilities, features, and graphical interface. Many updates add visual feedback and improve the workflow, making it one of the most functional and at the same time accessible modular synthesizers with an extensive sound library.
Multiple Synthesis Types
Classic mono and stereo “digital” and “virtual analog” oscillators with mono or stereo detune and waveform shaping that let you dramatically change the sound of basic waveforms. Built-in hard sync mode and waveform compression controls.
Easy-to-use 4-channel FM (phase modulation with feedback) with 12 algorithms and a multi-channel output mix, a pre-selected list of useful modulation channel ratios and a basic modulation depth control.
Wave sequence generators with 32 steps of control (including pitch shift, wave shape, wave depth, unison detune, balance and level) with smooth crossfading via wave sequence position modulation – save your own and load ready-made sequences.
4-channel FM wave sequence generator – with the same features as the classic wave sequence generator, but with the ability to create sequences from 4-channel FM configurations (also with the ability to save and load).
- Plucked string model with damping, distortion and stereo pitch.
- Flute oscillator with physical modeling and smooth transitions between notes/pipes.
- Loop playback – allows looping of single-cycle signals to create custom oscillator tones.
- Multi-sample (sound) generator, allowing import of sf2 files.
- Vector synthesis – modular vector mixers are available for both voice and FX-Bus audio processing (4 sources)
For each voice processing:
- Multiple filter types including low/high/band/notch with cut and resonance, slope/depth, stereo shift and saturation controls.
- Distortion, tube resonator, ring modulator, bit crusher, granulator for each voice, vowel filter.
- Sensor-oriented modulated (4 sources) audio levels and vector mixer nodes.
A range of effects:
3 reverb types: medium, large (with modulation and pre-delay) and huge – all with size, damping, tone and width controls.
- Full and 2-band compressors with sidechain function, gain and crossfade controls.
- Chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo.
- Vowel filter.
- Stereo filter – with full set of filter types.
- Distortion/EQ distortion.
- 3-band EQ.
- Tubular resonator, ring mode, chopper, frequency converter.
- Stereo echo with cross-feedback, L/R delay and damping control.
- Granulator (full range speed/size/window/playback speed/mix control).
- FX bus send and receive (cross-layer exchange).
- Touch-sensitive modular (4-source) audio vector FX mixer node.
- ADSR with pre-delay and multiple trigger options, loop envelope, LFO with one-shot mode, beat sync and initial phase control.
- Receive and send macro data (affect all layers simultaneously).
- Send and receive MIDI data/notes on selected channels.
- Send control data from one layer to another on the “internal MIDI” channels.
- A range of nodes for data processing and generation, including data smoothing, binary logic, math calculation, step sequences, data range mapping, scaling, event triggers, zone triggers, MIDI data triggers.
- Send MIDI cc and note control data to the outside world: control other synths and effects on any of the 16 MIDI channels.
- XY touch pads for data manipulation (nodes).
