In 2007, I bought this steel kitchen timer from Ikea. I recorded it with different microphones and from different distances, and since then I have used it in most of my music. The tick-tock sound is not only a symbol of movement, rhythm and time. It also occupies its own narrow frequency range, without interfering with other sounds. Therefore, it is ideal as a kind of subconscious metronome, as it helps to emphasize and reinforce the rhythm. 10 years have passed… and now we are releasing this collection of over 780 tick-tock sounds, including the very same Ikea timer samples that started it all, as well as many new sound sources.
Clocks is the largest collection of ticking clocks. Stopwatches, kitchen timers, wristwatches, grandfather clocks and hundreds of other unique tick-tock sound sources. These sounds are great for enhancing rhythm and creating a sense of tempo and tension. The collection includes several hundred tick-tock variations, so mixing and layering is recommended. The Clock Method
Each sound was recorded with multiple circular repeats, distributed across the keyboard for full control over the sound. To expand the possibilities of the ticking effects, we added our proven Chaos FX function with step filters, a three-band EQ, a degrader, a stereo delay and more.
