Toontrack – Acoustic Songwriter EZX

The ultimate collection of drum sounds designed specifically for acoustic production requires a large selection of vintage and modern kits that can handle everything from subtle nuances to full-on power. This EZX has seven of them. It also needs a great studio. This one was recorded in Nashville. It also needs the best microphones and gear. 

With two top-of-the-line 48-channel API consoles, Neve preamps, and a mic selection that includes vintage Neumann U67s, AKG D30s, and Coles, this EZX ticks all the right boxes, too. Finally, and most importantly, it needs a producer. 

In this case, that someone is Dave O’Donnell, a multi-award-winning engineer/producer/mixer who has worked with the absolute top tier of artists for four decades and counting. Listen to his work with the likes of James Taylor, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer and you’ll understand why he’s widely considered one of the best in the industry.

We could go on and on about how legendary drum tech Artie Smith oversaw the setup, that brushes and sticks were sampled on select kits, that both iconic main rooms in the studio are represented, or that absolute must-haves in terms of percussion instruments were also sampled… Ready to make some songs?

• Copy the EZX3_AcousticSongwriterA and EZX3_AcousticSongwriterB folders to the directory where the other EZX libraries are located.
• Copy the 1953@EZX_ACOUSTIC_SONGWRITER folder to the Midi directory where the other MIDI grooves are stored.
