apVerb is an audio plugin for creating algorithmic reverb with exceptional smoothness and flexibility. It generates reverb from thousands of semi-randomly arranged delay lines, inspired by a recently invented form of noise called “velvet noise.”

Carefully selected delays produce resonance-free reverb tails that can surpass traditional reverb algorithms in smoothness, flexibility, and stereo width. Delay lines are processed with filters and effects to achieve all types of reverb and innovative effects.

apVerb provides complete control over many parameters over time thanks to 23 multi-segment curve-based envelopes. In addition to traditional reverb types, it allows you to create inverse reverbs, reverbs that fade over time, reverbs that increase in frequency over time, delay-like effects, and more.

Additionally, apVerb can synchronize all envelopes and pre-delays to the host tempo, allowing for the creation of rhythmic effects. It also includes an early reflection generator based on simulated virtual room geometry and three effects: chorus, phase distortion, and saturation, which can be applied to user-defined time and frequency domains of the reverb. The wet signal can be controlled by the dynamics of the input signal, using a diving algorithm or by rolling off the reverb level during attacks and transients.
