Acustica Audio – Cardinal

At the heart of this set is a rare custom-built console from the 70s, one of the few surviving in the entire world, the sound signature of the iconic Cinderella Sound, the oldest surviving Nashville independent studio founded by the legendary Wayne Moss. Based on this, Cardinal undoubtedly become an important addition to our “Boutique Collection” of Acqua plugins, taking a well-deserved place in it.

The suite is entirely based on the Hyper-engine, featuring the new Hyper-Dyn3 thus representing the culmination of the Hyper3 technology. It has improved dramatically the responsiveness of the plugin, it is ultra-light on the CPU and when you turn a knob the reaction is insanely quick!

The Cardinal software equalizer is a 5-band semi-parametric equalizer based on the original 3-band equalizer from the Cinderella Sound Studio console. It has 5 fully customizable EQ bands, with the top and bottom bands available in Shelf and Peak modes.

The Cardinal software limiter is Acustica’s digital interpretation of the famous Tube Vari-mu software limiter, created in 1966 by the same influential engineer who pioneered the console at Cinderella Sound Studios. This limiter is one of the rarest and most coveted audio limiters in the professional recording industry. He became widely known for his role on Stevie Wonder’s vocals on Innervisions and Aerosmith’s bass on Sweet Emotion.

The Cardinal Discrete Preamp is a set of Class A discrete line and mic preamps for a total of 32 different emulations from the Cinderella Sound Studio console. They offer an exceptionally extended bottom end and a smooth, creamy top end. Monitoring drums with these preamps will be a breeze thanks to their outstanding performance.
