BIG PUMP | A single-knob volume control that reads the music in real time. Turn it up, and the sound becomes heavier, tighter, and more forward-facing, rather than flat.

Push & Pull Direction

The new directional switch is located right next to the knob. Push is a low stroke, which increases the level on transients for a classic upward pump. Pull is a high stroke, which decreases the level for a tighter, more controlled sound. The level remains constant when switching between modes.

Increase

The PUMP curve only. With the same PUMP setting, the curve becomes hotter and richer, allowing for greater drive while maintaining the same compression depth.

Parallel mixing with equalizing

MIX levels is now true parallel mixing, where levels remain equalized no matter how hard you push the INPUT gain, so wet and dry sounds sound harmonious no matter how hard you push the knob.

Smoother Response

Improved Fat mode ballistics, delta listening that keeps levels even at maximum INPUT gain, and smoother control of fast knob movements for a more natural sound.

One handle, total control

The PUMP knob adjusts the entire effect, from a subtle “glue” to maximum density. Even at low settings, the 4D modulation system generates the signal in time with the music, so the knob primarily controls the effect’s prominence.

4D Modulation Engine

The Big Pump continuously analyzes four parameters of the incoming audio signal, allowing it to react accordingly. Drums become louder, vocals come to the fore, and the effect adapts to the music.

Four sound modes

Fat – heavy, with low-frequency drive; Smooth – slow, with a “glued” sound; Tight – fast, with a transient response; Open – airy, with a predominance of mids and highs. Each has its own sound and response style.

Push & Pull Direction

Direct the pump with the knob. Pressing the Low button boosts the level during transients. Pressing the Hot button lowers the level, providing a tighter, more controlled sound. The level remains constant when switching, so you can accurately evaluate both options.

Boost

A boost to the curve, which becomes hotter and richer at the same PUMP setting. Raises the ceiling for extra drive and density without affecting pump depth.

The modern and vintage character

of Modern delivers pure harmonic saturation for a contemporary sound. Vintage adds asymmetrical drive for a smooth, tube-style harmonic tone. A second layer of saturation adds additional transformer-style color.

Width, Delta, and Oversampling

Width boosts the side frequencies more than the center ones, creating a stereo effect. Delta Solos are exactly what the Big Pump adds. Oversampling ranges from 2x to 16x for clear highs when used heavily. The Auto Gain function allows you to control the frequency response.
