Strymon – DIG Plugin v1.0.0 for WiN

Rackmount of the Future

The rackmount digital delays of the 80’s ushered in a new era of audio effects, where innovative electronic designs generated clean delays that sounded completely fresh and new, but with special and intriguing sonic characteristics.

Decades later, these sounds remain as distinctive and inspiring as ever.

Delay Doppelgänger

DIG plugin reveals the true soul of digital delay and doubles it – two simultaneous integrated delays with exciting delay rack sounds from the 1980s and today.

Instantly create complex, synchronized echo patterns, as well as hypnotic and atmospheric repeats that blur the line between delay and reverb.

Each of the three DIG digital delay sounds has its own distinctive, inspiring personality: the early 80’s adaptive delta modulation mode, the mid 80’s 12-bit PCM mode, and the modern 24/96 high resolution mode.

Voices Of Digital

Don’t all digital delays sound the same? What gives a digital delay its own unique personality?

Digital conversion technology was advancing rapidly in the late 1970s, with clever electronics designers striving to squeeze the best possible performance characteristics with precision previously unattainable by tape or analog circuits. Their creative solutions to the limitations of the conversion process resulted in delays that had some unintended and unique characteristics. DIG does a great job of revealing their individual quirks.

ADM

A high-sampling-rate, single-bit conversion technique that originated in telecommunications voice coding. Conversion and supporting signal processing, limiting, and pre-emphasis/desharpening create a punchy, wideband delay that adds more character as the dynamics of the input signal increase.

12-Bit

12-bit, 32 kHz PCM conversion was made possible by monolithic ICs developed in the late 1970s. Pre-emphasis/desharpening and companding combine with the converters to create a warm, spatially-feeling delay.

24/96

A clean, high-resolution, wide-band delay with a touch of dynamics that allows the delay to blend beautifully with the analogue dry signal. 24-bit resolution and 96 kHz sampling rate ensure uncolored, artifact-free repeats.
