Hip-hop and trap icon Lex Luger delivers his third Splice set filled with all the sinister stuff essentials. With a stage name inspired by a famous WWF professional wrestler, you can expect some drama here. In keeping with the Atlanta trap approach, it uses powerful 808s, crisp snare drums, frantic synths and ominous rhythms – exactly what you want from austere orchestral trap sounds.
Luger is a member of the hip hop production duo Low Pros with A-Trak. He rose to prominence when he joined Waka Flocka Flame on the hit Hard in the Paint, winning BET Producer of the Year in 2011. Following the success of his work with Waka, Lex began working with Kanye West producing the track “HAM” on Watch the Throne (with JAY Z). He has produced records for Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Wale, Fabolous, Juicy J, Snoop Dogg and 2 Chainz.
